Filipino cuisine has been rapidly rising in popularity in the United States. The Filipino Food Movement began in the 1500’s, when the first Filipinos landed in California during the time of the Spanish Galleon Trade. The organization aims to organize, formalize, and legitimize current efforts to promote cuisine inspired by the Philippines.
