The Filipino Food Movement presented “SAVOR THE NIGHT” with the BLACK EYES PEAS’ Apl.De.Ap last May 30, 2015 at the residence of Dr.Rollington Ferguson in Oakland. The event was a fundraising that featured cuisine by two amazing female Chefs in the Bay Area – Charleen Caabay of Kainbigan and Jessette Kalsi of Nouveau Filipino!
Filipino cuisine has been rapidly rising in popularity in the United States. The Filipino Food Movement began in the 1500’s, when the first Filipinos landed in California during the time of the Spanish Galleon Trade. The organization aims to organize, formalize, and legitimize current efforts to promote cuisine inspired by the Philippines.
